Questions worth asking
Including the awkward ones. If something is not here, ask us directly.
Using it
- What actually happens when I describe a problem?
- Four things, in order. Your description is turned into a structured goal; that goal is broken into the skills it needs; free material is searched and ranked for each skill; and the result is assembled into a sequence of sessions. It takes under a minute. If your description is ambiguous — "I want to get into data" could mean five different careers — it asks before building rather than guessing.
- Is this just ChatGPT with extra steps?
- The difference is sequencing and memory. Asking a chatbot for a learning plan gives you a plausible list; it does not know what you already covered, does not check the resources exist, and starts fresh every conversation. Here the roadmap is a persistent object you tick through, the resources are real links that were searched for and ranked, and the tutor knows which step you are on.
- What if the roadmap is wrong?
- Regenerate it — there is a button on every roadmap, and the feedback you give shapes the new one. You can also tell the tutor a step is too hard or too easy and the pacing adjusts. Being wrong sometimes is a real property of this product, not a bug we are hiding: it is why nothing is locked and everything can be redone.
- Do I need to pay to get something useful?
- No. Two roadmaps a month, fifty tutor messages and ten quizzes are free and will stay free. That is enough to learn something real. Premium removes the limits.
Your data
- Who sees what I write?
- Your descriptions and notes are visible only to you. They are sent to the AI provider that generates your roadmap — currently DeepSeek — because that is how the roadmap gets made. They are not used to train anyone’s model by us, they are not sold, and they are not shared with other users.
- Where is it stored?
- In a Postgres database hosted in London (eu-west-2), with row-level security so one account cannot read another’s rows even if the application had a bug.
- Can I delete everything?
- Yes, permanently, from your settings — and it is a real deletion, not a flag. Your profile, roadmaps, progress, notes and tutor conversations all go. There is no recovery period, which is the point. You can also export your journal as Markdown before you go.
Practical
- Is there a mobile app?
- Not in an app store. AIclarity is a progressive web app: open it on your phone and choose "Add to Home Screen", and it behaves like an installed app with its own icon. That is a deliberate choice — it means one codebase, instant updates, and no waiting on review.
- Do the resources cost money?
- No. Roadmaps are built from free material — YouTube, open textbooks, documentation, the open web. Good material already exists; the hard part is knowing what to do in what order, and that is the part this does.
- What if I stop paying?
- You keep everything you have made and drop back to free limits. Nothing is deleted and no roadmap is locked. Cancelling keeps your access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Still unsure? The free tier needs no card and takes about thirty seconds.
